First day of school!

Addilee is finally old enough to go to preschool. I have her enrolled in a Montessori school. They accept the students after they have turned three. She goes two days a week Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-12:30. She was very excited to get to go to school this year but she is a little disappointed that she doesn't get to ride the bus. We went to see the school last week and Addilee loved it. There is so much to do and play with. I hope that she will do really good and learn a lot. It was a little heartbreaking to see her go and getting so big, but she did really good and was excited to show me what she had done when I went to pick her up. I was a little beside myself when I came home and only had the two little kids with me but it will be good for the both of us. She loves her teacher and is excited about going back. She also starts dance this year and is excited for that. I will post when her dance class starts. I can't believe how fast my kids have grown and am so excited and nervous for what is to come in the future. They need to stay my babies forever!!!

Silly Girl!

Every night after Patton and Aspen have gone to bed we let Addilee stay up for a little while longer just because. Well lately when we have told Addilee time to go to bed she willingly goes with no fight at all. She gets in bed and will lay there for awhile but always when I go in to check on her before I go to bed she is always reading books well actually just looking and telling herself the story. She loves to read so one night when I went to check on her this is what I found. I actually got the pictures before she even noticed. I thought they were so cute and had to share with you. I love that she is so interested in books and loves to have anyone read to her. So every night I can always expect her to be reading books when I go in to check on her.

What I have been up to

My parents plant a garden every year and this year and had a picking of green beans and nobody wanted them so I took them willingly who wouldn't pass up something to bottle I wouldn't anyway. I bottled them one afternoon while the kids were napping and Ben for that matter. I was able to get 17 quarts of green beans and was very happy to have them and able to get them done. Thank you so much mom and dad for letting me have the beans my family really appreciates it.

Garrison or Garr-a-helll

We went over to Garrison, UT for the start of the doe hunt. For those of you who don't know Garrison is a border town it borders with Baker, NV. It is a very small farming community same with Baker. There is nothing out there at all. We drew deer tags over there this year the last time we drew tags for that area was when I was pregnant with Patton (I think). Anyways the last time we drew tags we left early in the morning and got over there just as the sun was coming up. We filled all three tags that we had in just a couple of hours and was back on the rode home by lunch time. So we were hoping for the same luck as last time except we decided we would stay the night so it would be a little easier on the kids. We left here on Friday night opening day of the hunt. We got to Garrison with daylight left to spare. When we got to where we were going to set up the tent to stay the night there was a doe standing by the water. I thought to myself maybe we will have just as much luck as we had the last time we were here. Ben didn't want to stop to shoot that doe so we drove into town. It is a little tricky hunting this area because most of the fields have private property signs and no trespassing signs. And of course we all know how deer love corn and hay! So we drove through town to the north side and turned to drive by the fields to see what we could see or stumble upon. Well we seen plenty but of course not any we could shoot because of the signs. So we decided to keep driving hoping luck would change. Well little to my dismay we stumble upon one just one all by herself. I got out of the truck to try to take the shot but she was running and I couldn't get a good enough shot. Ben decided that he would take the shot and hit her. She was hurt but not going down so he took a couple of more shots before she fell. We got her gutted and loaded in the truck by this time it was getting dark so we decided to set up camp so we drove back to the lake we were staying at. We got the tent set up, dinner cooked and fishing poles in the water. We slept really good considering we were sleeping in a tent and not our trailer.
We got up the next day hoping to fill the last tag mine of course. Taking care of things at camp before we got the kids up to get ready to go. We left camp trying to find a doe just one that was all I was asking for. Right when you get into town there it a circle of field corn with signs of course. But a whole lot of deer I told Ben if they cross the fence I would shoot. And boy did I get lucky they crossed the fence. I shot and she fell like a ton of bricks. We got her taken care of and headed back to camp to pack up and head home. Yes a very short trip but lots of fun. We had to get back for a family get together with Ben's family. We only caught one fish and we ended up letting it go. Addilee wouldn't have anything to do with the fish as long as it was out of the water. Patton and her both pestered it while we had it caught though. I got a few pictures as you can see. It was a very short trip but we enjoyed ourselves and so did the kids.

Lawn Mower rides anyone????

SUCH A HANDSOME LITTLE BOY!!!!!!
Doesn't he look good???

So I usually mow the lawns by myself every week but every once in awhile Ben will pitch in and help. Well the other day Ben decided to help and I wasn't about to complain. I went in the house to check on the baby and when I came back outside I found what you are about to see below.

Ben was giving the kids rides on the lawn mower while he was mowing the lawn. I guess who needs to pay for entertainment when you can always find some at home. At least we can most of the time. The kids enjoyed the rides and now every time I get the lawn mower out to mow the lawns, Patton always tries to climb on for a ride.

Swimming

We went to Gunlock Reservoir on Sunday with Ben's brother and his wife and couple of their kids. We took the boat and played in the water which was really nice and felt great. While we were there we had to go back to shore for bathroom breaks and what not. While at the dock the kids were jumping in and playing in the water. Addilee freaked out when Ben through her in. I think only because she went under the water. So I got in the water and talked Addilee into getting in with me she finally got in. I put her in the water so that she wouldn't go under and freak out again. Well low and behold that brought out new found confidence that she had. While we were out on the boat every time we would stop she would just jump in with no help and float and swim around. She enjoyed it so much. I was so proud of her for not being scared. She even rode the tube with Ben and loved every minute of it. She even fell in the water off the tube and laughed the whole time. I always knew I had a little water monkey but now she is really not scared of anything anymore when it comes to the water. Which is a great thing!

New Gate

So we finally got our gate built and hung. We bought the wood like over a month ago to build it with. I finally asked Ben if he would build this last Saturday since we didn't have much plans. So we finished buying the hardware that we needed to buy and got it built. I was very happy at the way it turned out. I think that it looks nice and it works great at keeping the kids back there. The latch to unlock it is to high for Addilee to reach which it a great think. Any of you who know my daughter know what I mean. Now if we could finish fencing in the rest of the yard it would be great but it will come sometime. Luckily I have a empty lot behind our house and it is covered in tall rye grass and the lot sits a little higher than ours so I have told Addilee that she can't go over into it because there are snakes and she won't be able to see them. I know it is a lie but hey I have to keep my kids in the yard somehow and where ever Addilee goes Patton follows.

Back yard camping

Ben has been telling the kids that we are going to sleep outside for sometime now. So like every other day or so Addilee asks if we are going to sleep outside. Well we finally decided that we could sleep outside over the weekend since Ben didn't have to get up early to go to work. Addilee and Patton were so excited when we were putting up the tent. We had to put up the tent because it was raining and rained most of the night. But it was still lots of fun and in fact I think the kids enjoyed it more sleeping in the tent than just sleeping under the stars. We got the tent all set up and the sleeping bags put down. Addilee thought that she needed to put everything in the tent from her bedroom. It was so cute to see how excited they were. The last picture is of Addilee holding everything that she has to sleep with at night. She sleeps with a glowworm first and foremost. Then a penguin and a shrek baby she also sleeps with an angel but she wasn't holding when I took the picture. It amazes me to see how little it takes to make kids so happy. The little things always puts smiles on their faces which I adore so much.
