Arpicot Jam

So I went over to my in laws house the other day to take some stuff over. When I got there and was talking to them they asked me if I wanted some apricots so of course who would pass up free apricots. I told them sure I would love some and that I would make a batch of jam. So they agreed to give me some and asked how much I wanted I just told them just enough to make a batch of jam I didn't want to take all of them away from them after all they were theirs. Well low and behold I went out into the garage to get a bag full and they had six five gallon buckets clear full I about died. So I casually asked if I could just have a bucket they of course were more than happy to give me a bucket full. So I took them home. I finally got around to making the jam later on in the week. I love apricot jam it is my very favorite. It reminds me of my grandma Staheli so much. I was taught how to make it by my grandma and aunts. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Oh how I miss my grandma something fierce. She was and is one of the best women that I know or ever have known. But back to the jam I made four batches of five pint jars. I was so happy with myself. I feel sometimes like I am a Betty Crocker at least when it comes to bottling. Call me old fashioned but I love canning. It makes me feel good knowing that I don't always have to rely on the grocery stores.

New Pictures

I had the kids pictures taken last week by Ben's cousin Sharee. She did a good job and I am pretty happy with the way they turned out. It was a little rough because it was lunch time and the kids were hungry but they turned out for the most part. I just thought I would show you some of the ones she took. Thanks Sharee I love them and I appreciate you taking the pictures for me. The kids are growing up so fast I like to capture every moment I can. Aspen is almost six months old that is so hard for me to believe. They are getting to big. I look forward to more memorable experiences with these rug rats.

Familly Fun!!

So we went up the reservoir this week with Reece and Meagan and their kids. Ben took Addilee and Patton out on the tube. As you can see from the one picture that Addilee wanted to get back in the boat but she ended up liking it. We are trying to get the kids used to the water so that they are not scared so far not really working but it will soon enough. We all took turns riding the tube even Reece and Parker went it was lots of fun. We also went knee boarding and skiing. I am slowly getting better at riding the knee board but I have not attempted to even ski yet but someday I will. Everyone else did really good at knee boarding and skiing. We had lots of fun it was a good family activity. The kids played on the boat with toys and what not. Addilee was playing with a phone trying to call someone who knows who though. The other day she was taking on a play phone that she has and she said mommy that was the cops and they said roger dodger. I laughed thought it was funny where she got if from I have no idea. She is always coming up with new things all the time. Ben played with the kids in the water Addilee freaked out and wanted back in the boat as fast as she could. But before Ben let her back in he was trying to teach her to swim. We had lots and fun it was blast. Thanks Reece and Meagan we had lots of fun.
