First day of Preschool

Addilee and Colton at preschool.

See how beautiful she is...

Boy are we in trouble...

Colton

Well today was Addilee's first day of preschool again. She also went last year but this will be her last year next year is on to kindergarten. I can't believe how fast my kids are growing up. This year Colton is in her class which is Ben's brother's youngest son. Colton and Addilee are only a couple of months apart and very close and always have been. Addilee was excited when she found out that he was going to be in her class. She also has a friend in her class this year that she has played with before and she loves it. I am so proud of her and the things she does. She is a great kid and likes to help out a lot. I love her so much and am so glad that I get to call her mine.

Hite....

We caught these 20 strippers the first night we got there.
What a blast!!

The walleye that Ben caught it was his first walleye.

This is called the battleship because it really looks like one duh
It was cool to see it in person.

See how beautiful the view was. This is how it was all around you.

I think it is cool to see the red and white sandstone together.

Ben and I got away for a couple of days and we went to Hite to go fishing. The fishing has been hot this year up there. For those of you who don't know where Hite is it is part of Lake Powell but it is pretty much where Powell starts. It is very different scenery there. The fishing was hot the first night we got there but the second night a storm blew in and we waited for the storm to pass to get on the water and when it did the fish were not biting. So no such luck but we had fun and it was good to be able to spend time together without the kids. Adults need that sometimes. Especially me since I am with my kids 24/7. Thanks mom and dad for watching them for us we really appreciate it. One of the best parts about this part of the lake is not nearly as much people and no houseboats We only saw one while we were there. It was a great little trip and we had lots of fun just hanging out and catching fish!!

Grape Jelly

This was the first time I have attempted to make jelly. I have made jam lots of times but never jelly. My father in law owns some property in Washington and we planted a garden this year down there well sorta anyway. There is grape vines so we picked a whole bunch of grapes and I made some jelly. It turned out to be quite tasty. I was very impressed with myself for doing it all on my own. It took some time but I figured it out and I was a little worried that it wasn't going to set up but after it set all night it was just like jelly the next day. Wow yay me!!

Funny thing........

Ok so funny thing this past weekend while my kids were staying with my parents for the weekend. Ben and I went to Hite to go fishing which a post is soon to follow. But anyways they decided to take there trailer up to Grant and Joan's cabin on Cedar mountain and after they had got there and got out of the truck Addilee says grandma see those trees with the white bark on them. My mom says yes I do and Addilee responds by saying well those trees are called Aspen trees. My mom continues to say well yes that is what they are called and Patton decides to tell his story well grandma see those trees with the brown bark. My mom says yes Patton I do and he says well those are called Patton trees. When she told me that I just busted up laughing so hard. Only my dorky kids let me tell you. Only my dorky kids would say something like this. Gotta love them!

Helicopter

Sitting in the cockpit or whatever they call it.

Parker, Addilee, Mylee, Macee, and Patton

My dad called me today and told me to come over to his house tonight because life flight was landing in the baseball field across the street for training. So we went over to watch it the kids thought it was pretty cool. Patton and Aspen were scared because of the loud noise. After it had landed and the people got off we walked across the street because they were letting people sit in it and look at things. The kids thought that was pretty cool to see a helicopter up close and personal. So we snapped a few pictures.

The kids feeding the ducks

We went to Lake Powell for the first time this summer. This was the first time we have taken our kids with us here and they loved it. The weather was perfect we could have had better weather. The water was AWESOME, the relaxation was nice, and the kids were good. We had a blast Ben's brother's DJ and Sam also went with us. We camped way far up stream which was a long drive through the main channel but other than that it was great. The kids had fun playing in the water, going for a hike, seeing the sites, feeding the ducks, finding lizards, and all sorts of other things. We even went to dangling rope and got soft serve Ice cream which I think was there favorite part. We had fun and are looking for more fun times on the water. Ben talked Addilee into trying to ski for the first time and she was gung ho and ready to go until water went up her nose while trying to pull her out of the water and she was done after that. But maybe she will try again sometime. Like I said it was fun and we can't wait to go back.
