December 2010 Flooding!

So pretty my favorite!!!
The lower Reservoir water coming over the damn.

The upper Reservoir water coming over the spillway.

The upper reservoir at the boat dock. Only about 6-8 feet of boat dock available.

The diversion pond and water going over the spillway on it as well.

I was totally amazed at how much water we got. It was spectacular to see how much rain we got plus to see all the water running in every wash. We got a total of about 19 inches at a peak just behind the reservoir called Gutz Peak. When I heard that I about died I couldn't believe it. I helped sandbag when we had the January 2005 flood and I thought that was bad which it was. But having experienced it already people were a little more prepared and kind of new what to expect. We had much more water this time around than we did five years ago. A so called once in a lifetime flood has now happened just five years apart a quite amazing experience.

Seeing Santa

The last day of dance before Christmas Santa came to visit the girls. Most of the girls liked him and was excited to see him. There was a few that weren't so excited but that is usually how it goes. Addilee was really excited to see him. She loves Santa! They danced for Santa and Mrs. Clause and got to tell them what they wanted for Christmas.

Wright Family Christmas Party

We had the Wright family Christmas party on a Saturday night. It was lots of fun and the kids got really excited to open there presents. We had great food lots of fun and got to see people we normally don't get to see that often. My cousin Ryan came up and he hasn't been to Enterprise in a couple of years so it was nice to be able to spend time with him plus the rest of the family. We love you all and you know who you are.

Addilee's dance

I enrolled Addilee in dance this year with Kim Drake's tiny tots dance group. They practice every week and they danced at the girls basketball game during half time. She looked so cute in her costume as with all the girls but I am very partial to one girl of course. She did really good I was surprised I thought she would get scared when she walked out on the floor and saw all the people watching. She had a hard time keeping pace or doing the right moves at the right time but hey she is only 3 and you have to start somewhere. I thought the dance was really cute and I enjoyed watching. The picture of Patton is when we were waiting for half time to begin. Thanks Dad and Mom and Meagan and the kids for coming to watch and supporting her we really appreciate it! I also took video and will upload if I can get it to work but I don't think I will be able to.

Like father like son

Ben has always worn a elk tooth necklace probably since we have been married. The tooth is the ivory's from the elk. He takes them out whenever we have killed elk and has a stock pile of a few because each elk has two. Well anyways back to my story. Patton always points and talks to Ben about his elk teeth on his necklace so Ben decided to make him a necklace just like his but on a smaller scale. So now Patton has a elk tooth necklace just like his daddy. And boy is he proud to sport it around.

Getting Christmas Trees.

We finally went and got Christmas trees this year. It didn't seem like we were ever going to go. I love going to get trees I think it is lots of fun and very beautiful all around us. We went to a place called Pine Grove to get trees this year and it was so beautiful the snow was so deep the kids could barely walk so I stayed at the truck with the kids while Ben and Sam went to look for trees. We came home with three trees one of us one for my parents and one for Sam. D.J. and Heidi were suppose to come but we never saw them then later found out they got lost. We had lots of fun but it makes for a very long day.

Rambo!!

I found this extra piece of ribbon at my moms house the other day and put it on Addilee's head like Rambo. I thought she looked cute but I really loved it because she kept calling it a rainbow. She would say mommy put my rainbow on me please I thought it was cute so I snapped a couple of pictures.

Happy Birthday Ben!!

I know I have been slacking but what can I say life if busy sometimes. Everyone should know this! Ben's birthday was on the 16th of this month. It was a happy day but also a very sad day. Happy day in the sense that is was Ben's birthday and you should always try to make birthday's special regardless of who's special day it is. I am so very thankful for my wonderful husband and the many things he does for our family. So thankful he has a job to support us and the things we do so that I am able to stay home with the kiddos. So thankful for his love for me as well as our children. The kids love him to death and it proves everyday when he comes home for work. I love this man more than words can say and am so thankful to his parents for the wonderful person he became because of the way they raised him.
It was also a sad day because that was the day his mother left to move to Alaska. Now my in-laws live in Alaska. I am sad not only for Ben and I not being able to see them very often but very sad for my kids. They will not get to see there grandparents hardly at all. Which is very sad because they won't get to see my kids grow up, or experience the things my kids can or will do at first hand. I love my in-laws very much and will deeply miss them, and the same goes for my kids. WE LOVE YOU DALLAS AND MELANY!!!!! And we will miss you so much. We hope that you will enjoy yourselves and take the time for your selves you desperately need the time for each other without involvement from family. Anyways well HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEN YOUR FAMILY LOVES YOU SO MUCH THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO WE GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!!!!

First Snow Fall

Well finally it came the first snow fall of the year. I was so excited when I went outside to throw something away and to my surprise it was snowing. Big huge snow flakes. I love love love the snow and was getting anxious for this time of the year to come. We got just enough snow to shovel so probably a couple of inches. But man oh man I was super excited to see that some of it sticked. I know I know call me crazy but I have always loved the SNOW!!!! When Addilee went to bed last night it was snowing and she wanted to go out and play in it but I told her she couldn't of course but when she awoke this morning the first thing she did was open her blinds to see if there was snow. She came running into the kitchen and says mommie mommie it snowed last night now we can go build a snowman. I had to tell her that there wasn't quite enough to build a snowman so when it snows more we will build a snowman. So expect some more snow pictures. Especially of atleast one snowman!

Halloween!

Happy Halloween even though it is a little late. This year Addilee was strawberry shortcake, Patton was a dinosaur, and Aspen was a spider. We went to the Halloween carnival on Friday night and trick or treating on Saturday. Addilee and Patton had so much fun and really enjoyed themselves. It was lots of fun the see the kids so excited. I can't believe how fast my babies are growing up. I wish they could stay little forever.
